I have a 2004 Prius w/keyless entry. One of the key fobs stopped working correctly. The dealer checked the battery and said it was low and needed changing. However he could not remove the faceplate on the fob (two of their parts people tried it). One of them suggested it was corroded. ( I didn't know plastic corroded). Anyway all they would do is suggest I buy a new one. That's big bucks when all it needs is a battery. -- Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to open the thing?

I just replaced the battery in mine yesterday. Be sure to hold the key release switch fully open while sliding the cover. That's what was holding mine closed. After that, it's a cinch.

Hi

Please try changing a battery in car remote. This usually helps. You can purchase a new or used car remote from our website - http://www.carandtruckremotes.com/index.html. We offer free shipping for batteries.

If you changed the battery and your keyless entry remote still does not work, most likely you need a new remote. You can purchase a brand new or used good condition (B-stock) remote on our website. All remotes come with a 90 day money back policy. Please click on this link to our website below

If you have any more questions please contact us at customercare@carandtruckremotes.com

You can also view our FAQ page for answers to common questions. Link below

Best Regards
