Hi, Pete (or any moderator),

There are 5 spam posts from lailaigogo since yesterday. 2 with the date of Mon the 11th in the "Off Topic" main head'g (1 in the "General" sub-head'g that seems to be in German & the one in the "General Cars" sub-head'g seems to have no text or super-tiny text). 3 have today's date & 2 are in the "PriusOnLine" main head'g (with both being in the "PriusOnLine" sub-head'g) & the last one is in the "Hybrids" main head'g, "Civic" sub-head'g (& is in German again).

Can this poster be locked out (he just joined yesterday) & his 5 posts deleted? I did this post to alert everybody because I can't seem to find the new spam report'g instructions here (or was that over at PriusChat?). Thanks.

On the bottom right of the post, just above the "Quote" button, the is a !. Click on it to report a post.

I have reported a few Spammer Threads, from this "Tool" already.

Is that all you have to do (just click on the "!" & it's done), or are there any more steps after that to complete the report? Since I already gave all the info in my post at the start of this thread, do you think that will be sufficient or do you recommend that I go back to each of the 5 posts individually & report them with the "!" method (so that they don't get overlooked)? Thanks for the tip on the "!" tool, I really appreciate it. I lost the 1st copy of THIS post (probably timed out again, but why for only such a short post?). I guess I'll have to do it this time by my cut & paste method with 2 sessions (annoying!). Well, here goes.

There is a table above where you would post, I believe Malware is 1st, then spam. Choose the appropriate label (Spam in this case), then hit submit.

But you only answered part of my question. Should I still report these 5 posts individually by the "!" method you clued me in to, or is start'g this thread (with all the info in my 1st post) going to be enough for Pete or another moderator to NOT miss & to take action on? Thanks.

the report allows for the moderators to quickly see the reported posts. We get a listing of them in one place in the moderator tools.

Thanks to the advice of bat4255, I've been the 1st person to file spam reports on a number of the posts in the recent rash of spam we have been receiving here. My very 1st attempt at using the "!" to report was flawed. It got incorrectly reported as "Warez" because I didn't see there was a drop-down menu to offer more choices (where "Spam" was located). All my other reports have been correct because even if there wasn't a website in the body of a post, I would see a website in the "Subject" line of the post. Thanks for this excellent & easy tool.

However, MY REASON FOR THIS POST is to report another spam post that there is no "!" in for me to use. It's in the "For Sale", "Dealers" section, post subject is "Prius Options", poster is opqr271 My guess is that because it is a "sticky" thread, that's the reason there isn't an "!" in any post in that thread, thus my reason for this verbal report.

Here's where to find 2 more spams that don't have an "!" icon in the thread for easy report'g. They're by hoeeilot & are in the "PriusOnLine" main head'g, "Announcements" sub-heading, threads "Green Double Underlined Text" & "Poll: updated forum software". I was able to report his other 4 posts using the "!" icon.

In addition to locking out or banning some of these spammers that we've had in the last week or so, can their garbage posts also be deleted by you guys & gals so they don't take up thread space & we don't have to look at them any longer?

Also, this recent rash of spam seems to indicate we need some form of protection to be built into the registration & 1st post process (maybe monitoring the 1st five posts of a newbie for appropriate post content before giving them freedom to roam & post within the site).

Hi there, moderator(s),

In my post of Aug 17th, I reported a spam post by opqr271 (I think it was taken care of), but why wasn't he banned so that he couldn't come back today & make another spam post (in the top sticky in the Prius-General sub-heading) that somebody else already reported by the "!"-icon method?
