Unless you have an EU NHW20, then you have to go to the dealer to program your car to accept the new fob.
Note that a keyfob from a 2004-2005 will not program to a 2006, but the newer keyfobs from a 2006 will work on a 2004-2005. I know I have the part numbers here somewhere... Older fobs part number ends in 47060, newer fobs part number ends in 47061.

Just remember to have your dealer erase all keyfobs and then program in all of your keyfobs together - you don't want someone to find your lost keyfob and steal your car!
And yes, there is the black and the silver Toyota logo on the fobs. One is a "dumb" keyfob (lock/unlock only, black I think) and the other is a Smart keyfob (silver I think).
I would be leary of an eBay auction, particularly of a used keyfob. There have been reports that you cannot reprogram (at least on the older fobs) all of the functions with a used keyfob (engine immobilizer when placed in dash, remote keyless entry, smart entry & start), just maybe the engine immobilizer only.
Tom Stangl mentioned this for discount pricing:

Conicelli sells it for about $155 for a SmartKey version:

You'll have to add shipping, which should be less than $10.
and then you'll have to buy the metallic key separately and have that cut, as well.
